Reunión Comunitaria de FJNWA el 13 de abril!
Food Justice NW Aurora (FJNWA) invites everyone to our next community meeting on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10am to 12pm at Montview Elementary School, 2055 N Moline St, Aurora, CO 80010, to learn together, strategize together, and eat together. The meeting will be followed by lunch. We will provide lunch, interpretation, and childcare for all.
Over the winter, FJNWA has taken a deep dive into our local food system, looking at where we grow food and where we get food (like stores, food pantries, farmers markets, and more). We've also taken a close look at how local policies and regulations help or hinder our community's access to nutritious food. We will share what we've learned, and we want to hear your perspectives and priorities on making nutritious food more available and affordable in NW Aurora. We will also share opportunities to get involved through workshops, volunteering, and advocacy.
Please REGISTER by Friday, April 5 at 5pm to help us plan for food, interpretation, and other accommodations.
Food Justice NW Aurora (FJNWA) invita a todos a nuestra próxima reunión comunitaria el sábado 13 de abril de 2024 de 10am a 12pm en la Escuela Primaria Montview, 2055 N Moline St, Aurora, CO 80010, para aprender juntos, elaborar estrategias juntos y comer juntos. La reunión será seguida por un almuerzo. Brindaremos almuerzo, interpretación y cuidado de niños para todos.

Grow Your Own Mushrooms!

You will learn which types of culinary mushrooms grow well indoors, substrates, pasteurization, and contamination. Learn the growth cycle: culture/ spores-> spawn ->fruiting blocks. We will discuss incubation and fruiting environments, harvesting, and storing mushrooms so that you can grow your own.
